ABOUT OUR SPEAKER:

David Kieve, National Director of Climate and Conservation Engagement, Biden for President

David Kieve oversees all engagement on issues related to climate and conservation for the Biden for President Campaign, a role he has held since March. This broad portfolio includes:

  • Environmental justice, which has been central to Vice President Biden's thinking and bold planning to combat climate change and continues to be an area of intense focus for the campaign;

  • Working with leading unions to promote the good-paying union jobs that making American the global leader in producing clean energy will create; and

  • Helping the campaign's Sportsmen & Sportswomen group focus on how the Trump Administration has let down hunters, anglers, and outdoor enthusiasts by failing to protect our fields, forests, and waters and the animals that inhabit them.

Engaging the climate community has been made easier by the fact that Vice President Biden has both laid out the most ambitious climate change policy ever put forward in a general election, and by the fact that Biden has campaigned more on climate-related issues than any prior Democratic nominee.

Before March, Kieve served as the Early States Director for Biden for President, overseeing the campaign's activity in the first four caucuses and primaries. He was especially engaged in Nevada, where he spent nearly all of January and February leading an effort that culminated in a strong second place finish and set the table for Vice President Biden's comeback.

Kieve is a partner on long-term leave of absence from Hilltop Public Solutions, a public affairs and political consulting firm, and a seasoned political operative, having worked at senior levels on many Presidential, Gubernatorial, Senatorial, Congressional and Mayoral campaigns. David and his wife, Kate Bedingfield, the Campaign's Deputy Campaign Manager for Communications, live in Washington, D.C. with their two children, Hugh and Margaret Ruth.
